How to care for your decon this winter?

Temperatures are falling as we head into winter, leaving decontamination units vulnerable to damage if they are not cared for properly.

One of the most common issues we see is damaged or split pipes where water is left to sit and freeze in the cold weather.

To avoid this problem Beacon advise that you follow these steps:

1. Ensure that all valves are left open and drained. Valves can be located below the pump, below the tank, and on some models below the boiler.

2. Ensure that the shower head and taps are open and free of any residual water.

Following these steps will help keep your plant running through the winter months and avoid any costly repairs!
